Skate'n'Slide Vol. 3


Leider ist es uns nicht gelungen im Jahr 2008 den Skate'n'Slide erneut zu realisieren.
Die Sponsorensuche erwies sich leider als erfolglos, da dieses Jahr Fussballaballa die wesentlich interessantere Sportart zu sein scheint als Wakeskating, Wakeboarding oder Skateboarding...
Ist das Fussball-Fieber erst ausgebrochen, hilft leider nix mehr.
Schweren herzens müssen wir leider mitteilen, das der Skate'n'Slide Vol. 3 dieses Jahr gecancelt ist.



Unfortunately it is not possible to realize a Skate'n'Slide in 2008.
The searching of sponsors for the event was unsuccessfully, because it looks like Footballaballa is even more interesting then wakeskating, wakeboarding or skateboarding...
Is the Football-Fever out, it is already to late.
With a heavy heart we have to advise that Skate'n'Slide Vol. 3 is cancelled for this year.



Skate`N´Slide Vol. 2

Bereits zum Zweiten mal trafen sich die Freestyler der Summer-Board-Sports in Zürich auf dem Areal der Roten Fabrik. Wakeskater, Wakeboarder und Skateboarder aus der Schweiz und dem benachbarten Ausland waren vor Ort, um es ordentlich krachen zu lassen.

Die einmalige Location der Roten Fabrik mit ihren roten Backsteinmauern und den vielen Graffitis, die Trendvillage mit ihren Ausstellern welche die neusten Trends aus der Szene presäntierten als auch das feine Catering, das um das Wohl der Zuschauer, Rider und der Crew besorgt war, trugen zum Gelingen des Events bei!

Die chillige und familiäre Atmosphäre ist wohl das, was den Skate’n’Slide ausmacht. Meet & Greet, Spass haben und Geniessen sind die Vibes die in der Luft liegen. Dies färbt auch auf den Contest ab und es kommt das Feeling eines gemütlichen Jams unter Freunden auf!

Petrus wird wohl ein Wakeskater sein, hielt er den Regen, trotz der sehr schlechten Vorhersage, bis um 18:00 Uhr zurück. Die Wake-Section war mit ihrer Qualifikation durch und die ersten Skateboarder in der Miniramp fingen sich gerade an zu batteln, und um die Krone des Skate’n’Slide Miniramp Kings zu fighten, als es dann leider doch sinnflutartig anfing zu regnen. Somit fiel der Miniramp Skatecontest wortwörtlich ins Wasser, was sehr schade für alle Beteiligten Skater war. Der jüngste mit am Start war Daniel Tait mit gerade mal 8 Jahren!

Das Finale der Wake-Section wurde trotz des anhaltenden Regens durchgezogen. Die Rider selbst hatten die Wahl, und meinten ja sowieso nass zu werden, und liessen mit fetten Trickcombos nicht lange auf sich warten.

Trotz des Wetters, welches wir leider nicht beeinflussen können, waren alle Anwesenden glücklich und zufrieden, und ihre strahlenden Gesichter konnte auch der Regen nicht trüben. Beachfeeling bis Open Air Stimmung gemixt mit relaxter und gechillter Atmosphäre ergibt zusammen den Skate’n’Slide.

Nachdem sich alle trocken gelegt und wieder frisch gemacht hatten, war es an der Zeit im Clubraum der Roten Fabrik den Skate’n’Slide mit einer ordentlichen Party ausklingen zu lassen. Selbst hier hatte die gute Stimmung keinen Augenblick gefehlt und die Vibes hielten bis in die Morgenstunden an.

„All Gemein & HMK“ waren das Highlight des Abends und brachten mit ihrem LIVE-Act die Stimmung zum Explodieren! Die Rüschlikoner zeigten wie straight Zürcher Hip Hop sein kann, aight!

Die Grundmauern stehen, und einem weiteren Skate’n’Slide Vol. 3 im Sommer 2008 steht nichts mehr im Weg, da Rom ja auch nicht an einem Tag gebaut wurde. Wir freuen uns bereits jetzt auf den nächsten Event in Zürich...

After the success of last year Patrick Vorlicek and Mel Schneider had the pleasure of hosting the “Skate ‘n Slide” event for the second time around at the Red Factory in Zurich where freestylers from Switzerland and surrounding countries met to show what they’re made of on their wakeskates, wake- and skateboards.

he Red Factory, with its red brick walls and countless graffitis proved again to be the perfect location for exhibitors to show off what’s new and popular in the scene, spectators, riders and the crew where spoilt with the finest food provided by the best caterers in town and the vibes of a trendy village feel all contributed to the outstanding success of the event. The chilled out, laid back and family friendly atmosphere is what Skate' n' Slide is all about. Meet & Greet, make new friends and exchange stories, tips and gossip, check out the newest gear on the market, where else would you find a better place to do so then at “Skate ‘n Slide”. If you’re riding, sliding or just watching, kick back and relax and take it all in with great food and even a jam or two at the lake.

We figured that Petrus must have been a Wakeskater! He saved the rain, despite the very bad weather forecast, until about 6pm. The Wake section was finished with their qualifications, and the first skateboarder in the Miniramp was ready to begin the battle, in order to fight for the crown of the Skate' n' Slide Miniramp King, when unfortunately it began bucketing down with rain. The Miniramp Skate contest literally fell in the water, which was very unfortunate for all skaters involved.The final of the Wake section was pulled through despite the continuous rain. The riders had the choice if they wanted to continue or not but they rain wouldn’t stop them, it’s a water sport anyway! So off they went strutting their stuff harder than ever pulling off some of the fattest trick combos they’ve ever managed. The youngest contestant was Daniel Tait with the age of only 8 years! Good on him and all the others who participated.

Despite the weather, which unfortunately is out of our hands, all present riders were happy and content and even the rain couldn’t cloud their beaming faces. After a shower it was time to proceed into the club of the Red Factory where the Skate' n' Slide party continued until the early morning hours.

„All Gemein & HMK “ were the highlight of the evening and with their live act they literally lifted the roof off the house! The Rüschlikoner proved that straight Hip Hop from Zurich can be, aight!

We would like to thank everybody involved in the success of this year’s event, the sponsors, the crew, the riders and everybody who came along to have a look and we are excited to host another  “Skate ‘n Slide” in 2008.
